Scenic Drives in Salt Lake

One of the most iconic autumn adventures is the scenic drive through Little Cottonwood Canyon, a winding road that takes you from the base of the Wasatch Mountains all the way to the doorstep of Snowpine Lodge. The drive is simply spectacular this time of year, with towering aspens and vibrant maples painting the landscape. Whether you’re stopping to snap photos or simply soaking in the views, this drive is the perfect prelude to your autumn getaway.

For those who want to explore further, from Mill Creek Canyon to American Fork Canyon, you’ve got plenty of vibrant fall color viewing options!

Fall Trails for the Perfect Photoshoot

Want to capture fall in all its glory? Snowpine Lodge offers easy access to several trails that are not only scenic but perfect for fall photoshoots. Below are three of our favorites.

  • Embrace the Beauty of Autumn at Snowpine Lodge 1

Catherine's Pass Hiking

This is one of our favorite trails for many reasons! It starts with a scenic drive to the top of Little Cottonwood canyon, you get to drive right past Snowpine Lodge (maybe grab a bite to-go), drive up to the beautiful overlook parking lot, eat some snacks, grab your water bottle, and hike as far as you want! It is a 1.6-mile trail point to point, so simply go as far as you would like and turn around whenever! This trail overlooks great views of Albion Basin, Alta Resort and Brighton Lakes. It’s the perfect trail for every member of the group!

Lower Bell Canyon Reservoir

A 2.4 mile loop right near the base of the canyon, sure to wow! The views of the valley, the reservoir, the upper waterfalls, and the aspen trees are unmatched. The average time this trail takes is 1 hour and 13 minutes, so perfect for those looking for a quick yet breathtaking hike!

White Pine Lake via White Pine Trail

10.5 miles and FULL of gorgeous colors, great photo ops, whether you hike the full 10 miles, or the first 20 minutes! White Pine Trailhead never disappoints.
